Programs in Detail

What Each Program Covers

Each program has its own approach, cadence, and typical outcomes. Pick the one that fits your student, or ask us to help decide during your consultation.

Program 01

K-8 Foundations Tutoring

Elementary and middle school tutoring across reading, writing, and math. Sessions focus on the fundamentals a student needs to keep pace in class and to enter high school with a solid base.

Best for: students falling behind in reading fluency, writing structure, or arithmetic; students preparing for the jump from elementary to middle school; students entering the pre-algebra and algebra sequence.

  • Reading Fluency
  • Writing Structure
  • Elementary Math
  • Pre-Algebra
  • Study Skills
  • Confidence
Program 02

High School Subject Tutoring

Weekly subject tutoring for high school students across math, science, English, and social studies. Sessions track your student's teacher and syllabus, focusing on the material coming up in class and on the next test.

Best for: students who need consistent weekly support across one or two subjects, and families who want an ongoing tutor rather than emergency help.

  • Algebra 1 & 2
  • Geometry
  • Biology
  • Physics
  • English Lit
  • US History
  • Government
Program 03

AP and Honors Support

Weekly sessions for AP and honors coursework taught by specialists in each subject. We sync to your teacher's calendar during the school year, then shift to structured AP exam review with released-question practice in spring.

Best for: ambitious students carrying AP loads, families targeting fives on AP exams, and juniors and seniors building a competitive transcript.

  • AP Calculus AB/BC
  • AP Biology
  • AP Chemistry
  • AP English
  • AP US History
  • AP World
Program 04

SAT and ACT Preparation

Full-course SAT or ACT preparation. Every plan starts with a proctored diagnostic and a target score. From there, we build a mix of content review, section strategy, and full-length practice tests timed to your official test date.

Best for: juniors and seniors preparing for their first sitting, students aiming to raise a score for a second attempt, and families targeting specific score bands for admissions or scholarships.

  • Diagnostic Test
  • Content Review
  • Section Strategy
  • Timed Practice
  • Score Reporting
  • Test Day Plan
Program 05

Calculus and Chemistry Specialists

Dedicated specialists in the two subjects where high school students most often need help. Our calculus tutors have taken the subject to the highest level. Our chemistry tutors know both the concepts and the calculations cold.

Best for: students in Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB or BC, Chemistry, or AP Chemistry who need a tutor who lives in these subjects rather than one who tutors them occasionally.

  • Pre-Calculus
  • AP Calc AB
  • AP Calc BC
  • Chemistry
  • AP Chemistry
  • Organic Basics
Session Formats

Three Ways to Schedule

Any of the five programs above can run in any of these three formats. Families often mix formats across the year as needs shift.

Pay as you go

Drop-In Sessions

Individual sessions booked as needed. Ideal for occasional targeted help, project weeks, or trying a tutor before committing to a weekly plan.

Weekly cadence

Weekly Tutoring

Same tutor, same time each week, across a semester or full school year. This is where real progress compounds and where most of our long-term families sit.

Intensive

Test Prep Bootcamp

Structured multi-week SAT or ACT program with diagnostic, content review blocks, section strategy, and timed practice tests. Scheduled around your test date.

Tutor Selection

How We Choose the Right Tutor for Your Student

Our tutor selection process is deliberately careful. The right match makes the difference between a student who dreads sessions and one who looks forward to them.

Step 01

Intake conversation

We ask about your student, their current class, recent work, and the goal for the year. What has worked with tutors before, and what has not.

Step 02

Optional diagnostic

Where useful, we run a short diagnostic to pinpoint where the real gap sits. For SAT and ACT, this is a full proctored practice test.

Step 03

Specialist match

We match your student with a tutor who has deep expertise in the subject and a teaching style that fits how your student learns.

Step 04

Trial and confirm

The first two sessions are a trial. If the match is not right, we swap without cost. Once confirmed, the same tutor stays with your student.

Test Prep Timelines

How Long SAT and ACT Prep Really Takes

The right timeline depends on the target score jump and the student's starting point. Here is what typical plans look like.

Goal Typical Timeline Session Cadence What Is Realistic
Modest score lift 2 to 3 months 1 session per week 50 to 100 point SAT improvement, 1 to 2 point ACT improvement
Substantial lift 3 to 4 months 1 to 2 sessions per week 100 to 200 point SAT improvement, 2 to 4 point ACT improvement
Large jump 5 to 6 months 2 sessions per week 200 to 300 point SAT improvement, 4 to 6 point ACT improvement
Perfect-score band 6 months plus 2 sessions per week, plus timed sets Precision work on remaining error patterns, section by section

These ranges assume the student is doing the homework between sessions. We build a schedule that keeps the load realistic against the rest of school life.

Build a Plan

Not sure which program fits?

That is what the free consultation is for. A short conversation is enough to shape a plan for your student. We will suggest a program, a tutor, and a schedule.
